I am a proud third generation Washingtonian. The granddaughter of an orphan; daughter of a home health aide and a disability care provider. As a graduate of Ballou Senior High School and Shaw University I bring a wealth of personal conviction, with a proven commitment to public service. As a current elected democratic leader I am proud to serve as your next At Large Councilmember.

I’ve transformed from being an at-risk youth — who overcame the adverse impact that a zip code has on the quality of education, housing, and safety on residents — to a small business owner and respected thought leader. My life’s work is informed by my lived experiences. I’ve survived public shootings and called cease fires. While serving as a founding member of the Peaceoholics. I learned and taught the formula for violence and trauma prevention.

As a former program analyst at the Small Business Administration, I evaluated policy effectiveness for entrepreneurs to achieve economic stability. While serving as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner, I launched the first-ever Resolution Roundtable, where residents galvanized their political power to address issues in our neighborhoods. From serving organizations through my firm, District Influencers (DI), a consultancy specializing in strategic communications for political education and policy changes.

These experiences allowed me to engage with hundreds of business owners, thousands of residents, and support dozens of nonprofits, to determine priorities to address public safety, youth services needs, homelessness and housing crisis, entrepreneurship to garner economic stability, and increase government participation through political engagement.

As your At Large Councilmember; I will implement my transformative action plan for improving the quality of life for women and families in the District by establishing laws and oversight that ensure economic empowerment, housing equity, overseeing smart policing, and creating access to vocational education and human capital recovery for all.
