I am Monika Nemeth an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) in Ward 3 who is passionate about her city and her community. 

I came to Washington, DC as a student in 1983, and I have never left.  I knew from the moment that I arrived, that DC is my home.  I have spent most of my life in and around Ward 3 whether as a student at American University, or living on Wisconsin Ave., Glover Park, or my home now in North Cleveland Park. 

Safe streets have always been an important issue to me.  Whether it is advocating for the elimination of the reversible lanes on Connecticut Ave or asking MPD to increase their patrols in areas where crime is now rising.  We all deserve to be safe. 

I listen to my constituents and love to engage with them. Their concerns are my concerns.  As an ANC, I am used to working with DC agencies for services on behalf of my constituents, and I ask the tough questions.  I will work full time to make sure that your concerns are heard whether dealing with essential city services or social policy. As a citizen and taxpayer of the District of Columbia, you deserve no less. This is my promise to you.
