Virtual Town Hall Meeting Action Alert

Candidates running for At-Large Member of DC Council Ward 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8, the School Board, and US Representatives will be coming together to address women and family issues.

Politics, Children, Women, and Covid 19

  • Children’s National Hospital and The George Washington University recently partnered together to conduct testing at the Children’s National NE Drop-In Center. According to a survey reported on by the Washington Post, they found that of the 1,000 children tested who had been affected by the COVID-19 virus 46% were Hispanic, 30% were black, while only 7% of the non-Hispanic White tested.
  • As of August 11, 2020, there was a total of 12,807 COVID-19 cases in the District of Columbia, and 591 COVID-19 related deaths.

DC Women in Politics will host a Second Virtual Town Hall Meeting for female Candidates to speak on women’s issues.  Sign-up information will be sent on 9/12/20.

Candidates running for the following seats:

  • US Representatives
  • Member of DC Council: Wards 2, 4, & 8
  • School Board

Preference Polls will give you the opportunity to choose the candidate that you feel is best qualified to represent you and to address COVID-19 and other bread-and-butter issues affecting the District of Columbia women and their families.

Your participation in both Town Halls is strongly encouraged. And, immediately following the Town Hall meetings, you will be able to cast your Preference Poll vote at www.dcwomeninpolitics.org, through September 15.
